Maintaining sheep in optimal condition can be challenging, and any underlying diseases can have a significant impact. Whether you’re dealing with poor lamb performance, a sudden disease outbreak, or low scanning percentages, we can assist with investigations to identify the root cause and collaborate on finding an effective solution. If you feel your flock isn’t performing as it should, don’t hesitate to reach out to us.

The pre-lambing period is crucial, the success of the lambing period hinges on what happens in this final 4-6 week window.

Mineral profiling

  • Post weaned lambs: to ensure no trace element deficiencies are not holding back lamb growth rates
  • Post weaned ewes/rams pre tupping: to ensure no trace element deficiencies and that they are in optimal condition for tupping.

Metabolic Profiling

  • Ewes pre lambing: Ideally done 2-3 weeks before lambing, in the at risk period, this allows us to check metabolic health and make any adjustments to the ration if needed.

Parasites

Parasites are a major issue in sheep. From internal parasites such as worms, fluke and coccidia to external culprits such as blowfly and scab, parasite management plays a major role in our flocks’ production, profitability and welfare.
